Start-Up Funding for the Project (January 2012):

It is expected that start-up funding will be received in the first quarter of 2012. This funding will be directed to London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) to begin recruiting for the Eating Disorder Management Team and to establish a temporary start-up location to begin the training of the team and to receive initial consults for treatment. It is anticipated that a start-up residential treatment facility will begin by the summer of 2012 and it is hoped that a permanent location will be announced by the end of the year, and a full program will be in effect by the spring of 2013.

The EDF of Canada has a major role in ensuring that the residential treatment facility is well funded, that the technology is available for an adequate follow-up program and that clinical evaluation, research and education is part of this program. The Foundation will also ensure that support services are adequately funded so that auxiliary programs, support groups and families can be in place for a viable continuity of care model involving the community.
